Colorado Man Suffocates Mountain Lion To Survive Attack

News

A trail runner in Colorado reportedly used his bare hands to kill a mountain lion that was attacking him.

The unidentified man said he was running at Horsetooth Mountain Park Monday when he heard something behind him.

As he turned, the young cat lunged at him, biting his face and wrist.

He was able to fight back and ended up suffocating the animal.

He then drove himself to a hospital where he was treated for cuts on his face and puncture wounds all over his body.

Wildlife officials verified the man’s story and even retrieved the mountain lion’s body and the man’s belongings.

The cat tested negative for rabies.
