The City of Amarillo’s Community Development department is hosting a workshop to facilitate the application process for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs.
The planning for the 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan begins in April, with the workshop scheduled for Tuesday, March 1 at 2 p.m. in room 275 of the Simms Municipal Building located at 808 S. Buchanan Street.
The workshop will focus on what makes an effective application, policies and procedures and eligible activities. Application forms will be available at the workshop and the deadline to submit those documents is Monday, April 11.
Those interested may access an application packet and general information prior to the workshop from the Community Development Office in the Simms Municipal Building or online at comdev.amarillo.gov/.
Non-profit and community organizations may request funding for projects which will help achieve the strategies in the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development. All projects must benefit low-to-moderate income persons.
