Cimarron County Sheriff’s Department Investigating After Inmate Dies in Custody

UPDATE 3:40 P.M.:

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation and the Cimarron County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an alleged suicide at the Cimarron County jail last night.

The inmate was arrested for public intoxication. 

He was found dead right before midnight.

Jail staff said Nico Lee Collins, 29, was put into a cell by himself. They told us he made something from inside the cell and hanged himself.

Cimarron County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that an inmate died in custody Tuesday night.

Officials say more information will be released after notification can be made to the inmate’s family.
