Chronic pain leads the way as the biggest reason Americans sign up for medical marijuana.
This according to a new study published in the journal “Health Affairs” the report took a closer look at medical marijuana programs in 15 states in 2016 and 2017.
Chronic pain, stiffness from multiple sclerosis and nausea from chemotherapy were the top three reasons people used medical cannabis.
33 states and the District of Columbia currently enables doctors to prescribe marijuana for various medical issues.
The report also added that more than 800,000 patients signed up for medical marijuana in 19 states in 2017.
