According to Medical Daily, many foods are not meant to be stored in the refrigerator.
Here are common items that should be kept away from the cool.
First up – tomatoes. Keep the fruit at room temperature for the juiciest flavor possible.
Bread is another item often placed in the fridge. However, the cold condition can actually make bread go stale faster. If you want to save it for later, stuff it in the freezer and store for about three to six months.
Honey should also be kept on the shelf. The sweetener won’t crystallize as fast if it remains in a cool, dry area.
And try not to tear up – onions thrive in dry environments. The vegetable will soften when placed in a chilly condition.
Last but not least – coffee. Keep your ground coffee or beans out of the fridge for a fresh cup of joe in the morning.
