A stunning reversal by prosecutors in Chicago.
The state is dropping all charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.
He was charged with disorderly conduct, accused of staging a phony attack and claiming he was the victim of a hate crime.
Jussie Smollett was in a Leighton Criminal Courthouse for an emergency hearing on Tuesday.
It’s unclear why all the charges were dropped against Smollett.
His attorney’s released a statement Tuesday saying Smollett was “a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public causing an inappropriate rush to judgment.”
