Video from a “Stork Cam” in Russia captured the scene as a stork nest escaped a wildfire that swept across the landscape.
The camera overlooks an Oriental White Stork nest in Russia’s far east.
Late last month, it captured a wildfire spreading in a field below the nest where the mother stork was minding four eggs.
The nest on an electrical tower was being monitored as a part of a World Wildlife Fund project.
The wildfire went by without doing any harm to the birds.
Then Tuesday, four chicks arrived safely.
The Oriental White Stork is listed as an endangered species according to a global inventory of threatened species.
The Russian government says at least 49 wildfires are burning now across the country covering more than 72,000 acres.
