On Saturday, Feb. 2, Thomas Brown’s hometown honored his memory with a special service at Canadian High School.
Thomas Brown went missing from his hometown of Canadian back in 2016 when he was a senior in high school.
As KAMR reported last month, officials confirmed his remains were found near Lake Marvin.
Cory Campbell, a youth minister who knew Brown and his family, spoke at the memorial service.
“We all knew Tom would do great things we just didn’t know that he wouldn’t be here to see them. He loved life …loved people…that was Tom,” Campbell explained.
People around Canadian remembered the life of Thomas Brown.
“I think today was a day of healing, a day of hope and a day of celebration,” Campbell said.
The Canadian High School gym was filled with Brown’s family, former classmates, and those showing support for a young man whose life was cut short.
Ken Urschel Brown’s former baseball coach said the memorial helped those remember Thomas as he was.
“There’s so much I just don’t think you could get it over with in a day …there’s just so much to say about him,” Urschel said.
The investigation of Thomas Brown’s death is still ongoing. DPS asks anyone with any information to contact the authorities.
