FDA: Asbestos Found In Claire’s Cosmetics

You may want to take a close look at your teen’s make-up table.

You know Claire’s, the store that sells jewelry, accessories, and makeup aimed at teens, tweens and kids?

Well, according to the FDA three of Claire’s cosmetic products have been found to contain asbestos.

These items are not believed to be on store shelves now but consumers may still have them at home.

The items to look out for are Claire’s brand eye shadows, a compact powder and a contour pallette.

If swallowed or inhaled, asbestos could lead to lung damage and cancer.

Now, Claire’s officials say they’ve taken the tainted items out of retailers saying “customer safety is paramount.”

Despite that, Claire’s says it has issues with the FDA’s testing procedures — saying some results have had “significant errors.”
