Do you believe in the motto “beer before wine and you’ll feel fine”?
A new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition Friday shows this common hangover concept is a myth.
Researchers tested the theory with two groups of participants – one group drank about three pints of beer followed by four glasses of wine.
The other group drank the same amount in the opposite order.
Turns out, the morning after was just as bad no matter what type of alcohol came first.
Experts say the best way to avoid a brutal hangover is to drink in moderation.
Federal guidelines recommend women stick to no more than one drink per day and two for men.
And after a night out, make sure to drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep, and eat a hearty breakfast.
