APD Dispatched to Domestic Incident

The Amarillo Police Department was dispatched to a residence on Friday, Feb. 15 over a domestic incident. They were told there were five people inside the house.

APD was called at 6:15 a.m. The incident was in the 1200 block of Gardenia Street.

The caller informed APD that the male suspect had entered the residence uninvited and made claims to harm himself and others.

When officers arrived they were able to get three people out of the residence safely.

Johnny Angel Padilla, 28, was the male suspect and he refused to come out. A second member of the household was unable to leave on their own.

At 7:10 a.m. the APD Critical Incident Response Team arrived on scene. 

Just after 11:45 a.m., the second person in the house came out.

Padilla exited the residence and was taken into custody at 12:04 p.m. He was booked in the Potter County Detention Center for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Another Felony.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
