APD Continues Searching for Man Missing Since June

News

Amarillo Police continue looking for leads in the case of a missing man.

Bobby Lee Johns was last seen in Amarillo on June 9.

His truck was found in Oldham County days later, but Amarillo Police say there was no sign of him or where he could’ve gone from there.

“We’ve had some tips and a few things come up since then but no leads that we have been able to say he is definitely still in town. We want to know what happened, we are not really sure where he’s at if he is safe, we don’t know, we’d like to have some more tips come in, we’d like to be able to at least let everybody know that Mr. Johns is safe,” said Cpl. Jeb Hilton.

Corporal Hilton says the fact that he has been gone as long as he has is worrying.

“There were no signs that he was taken, there are no signs that he went missing or anything other than he went missing on his own accord, so to be gone over a month and nobody has any contact with you, that is concerning.”

Amarillo Police are hoping for more tips so they can find Johns and give his family some answers.

“The family would love to know that he is at least safe, so if we can find anything out, if we can give them some information that he is, we would love to do that. So if anybody has knowledge on where he could be, please reach out to the police department and let us know so we can look into it,” added Hilton.

Johns is described as 5’11”, 205 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are asking anyone who may have information of his whereabouts to call them at 378-3038.
