AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - A local business has pending criminal charges after police said it sold alcohol to minors.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, on March 7, APD detectives had compliance checks at multiple Amarillo area bars.
APD said at one location, the bartenders served minors, who were acting under guidance and supervision of APD.
There are criminal charges pending for those involved. The offense is under Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code, 106.03, Sales to Minor.
This offense is a Class A Misdemeanor and punishable by a fine up to $4,000, confinement in jail for up to a year, or both. The violator will also have their driver's license automatically suspended for 180 days upon conviction.
These cases will be referred to the Randall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office for Prosecution and to TABC for administrative action.
Police have not released the name of the establishment.
