The technology can spot these potential distresses by monitoring for changes in heart rate, movement, skin temperature, and even how someone uses their phone. Then giving the person advice on what to do next, such as taking a walk outside, or texting a friend.
Researchers and scientists behind the technology hope to prevent potential incidents of self-harm or suicide.
