City leaders came together to discuss what Amarillo is doing well and where progress can be made.
Many city projects have just begun, such as the multiple construction projects and alley cleanup.
Areas where city officials say we need to improve is funding for the police department, along with cutting down on domestic violence-related crime.
“We have a lot of good things happening in our city, but we have some challenges too,” said Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson. “I know that Amarillo is not afraid of hard work, and I am convinced that the solution for every problem in our city actually lies somewhere in the citizens of Amarillo. So, we just have to get it done. “
With so many projects and programs just beginning, city leaders are optimistic that they will see the fruits of those labors later this year.
