The United Family and Mrs Baird’s Bread announced the March recipients of the second annual Amarillo Teachers On The Rise program.
The three March winners include Melinda Flanagan of Wills Elementary School (Amarillo ISD), Kim Miller of Bushland Middle School (Bushland ISD), and Mollie Howell of Top of Texas Accelerated Education Center (Perryton ISD).
These winners represent the seventh group of instructors to be honored for the 2015-2016 school year. Winning teachers each receive a $100 gift card to United Supermarkets, Market Street or Amigos, as well as a $100 Coulter Gardens & Nursery gift card. The students who nominate a winning teacher also receive a $50 VISA gift card.
“We are pleased to honor these outstanding teachers for their service in our community,” said Mary Myers, communications manager for The United Family. “The Teachers On The Rise program helps us highlight educators who play a vital role in the lives of our youth.”
Three more Amarillo-area teachers – one elementary, middle school and high school – will be named Teachers On The Rise in April and every month for the remainder of the school year. To nominate a teacher, visit www.MrsBTeacher.com and explain why your teacher(s) deserve special recognition.
