At 6:55 this morning, officers from the Amarillo Police Department were dispatched to a stolen vehicle in the 3400 block of Sunlite.

The vehicle had been left running to warm up while the owner went back inside. These incidents can happen in the blink of an eye.

Officials say they know it is nice to get into a warm vehicle on these cold mornings, but is it worth the risk of not coming out to a vehicle at all? These thieves are always out looking to take advantage of any and everyone.

They go out especially on these cold mornings because they know that they will find several cars left running and unattended.
