Amarillo Police Searching for Two Suspect in Early Morning Shooting

Amarillo Police responded to a shooting at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe facility at 1901 S. Johnson just before 2 a.m. today.

The victim told police that he had just entered his car on the access road near the BNSF building when two suspects approached the passenger side of his vehicle.

The man rolled down the car window to speak to the two. One suspect extended what was believed to be a rifle into the vehicle. The other suspect demanded the man’s belongings.

The intended victim grabbed the gun to push it away. The suspect fired the gun.

The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police say the victim has gunshot injuries on a finger, elbow, and upper leg are not described as life-threatening.

There have been no arrests.
