Photos Released: Amarillo Police Investigating Sunday Night Armed Robbery at Friendly Discount

APD Robbery Squad Detectives have requested release of photographs taken from security camera video from 2900 S. Western.


The photographs showS the suspect wearing what appears to be khaki colored cap with block letters across the front. There may be some other color fabric on the back lower half of the cap. He appears to have light or gray facial hair. He is wearing a white or light colored shirt which was not tucked in, a light blue jacket with a lighter colored collar liner and flaps on the chest pockets, blue jeans, and black shoes.

In one photograph, there is a white car parked facing the building. That is the suspect vehicle. No other information is available on the vehicle except that it may be a 1990’s four door.

On Sunday night, Amarillo Police responded to a reported robbery at the Friendly Discount at 2900 S. Western.
The suspect came into the store and placed a sack on the counter. He told the female employee to put the money into the bag. He then lifted his shirt to display a handgun in a holster on his right side. He put his hand on the gun.

She did as directed. The man collected the bag and left the store. He drove away westbound on Garland Avenue in what was described as an older, white four door vehicle.

No one was injured in the robbery and there have been no arrests.
