Amarillo Police continue investigation of fatal Hit and Run

Amarillo Crime Stoppers is asking for the community’s help on a Fatal Hit and Run in this week’s “Crime of the Week”.

On May 12, 2019, at 11:35 PM, APD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of NE 15th on an accident involving a pedestrian who had been struck while walking his dog.

Officers located a 61-year-old male deceased in the road. Officers discovered that the victim had been struck by at least 2 vehicles and both vehicles fled the scene before officers arrived. The male was not in a crosswalk when the collision occurred. The dog that was with him was also struck and deceased at the scene.
