At 3 a.m. Friday, Amarillo Police responded to a report of vandalism to a vehicle on the 100 block of SW 24th Avenue.

A window had been broken out of a 2018 Dodge Ram truck at that location. The officer located several items that had been dropped at the scene that did not belong to the resident.

Other officers searched the area and located Tina Rachell Mims, a 49-year-old female, in the 2200 block of South Tyler Street. Mims was looking into the open trunk of a Ford Mustang.

Mims was contacted and officers determined that she was not the owner of the vehicle. Officers located four total vehicles in the area that had been broken into.

Mims was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Burglary of a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief Greater Than or Equal to $100 but Less Than $750, and four Local Municipal Warrants.
