The Amarillo Police Department Detective Division found two bars where bartenders served a minor.
Officials said this was during compliance checks on Thursday, Feb. 7.
APD told us the minors were acting under the guidance and supervision of Amarillo Police detectives and did not consume any alcohol.
There are criminal charges pending for those involved. The offense is under Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code, 106.03, Sales to Minor.
This offense is a Class A Misdemeanor and punishable by a fine up to $4,000, confinement in jail for up to a year, or both. The violator will also have their driver’s license automatically suspended for 180 days upon conviction.
These cases will be referred to the Potter County Attorney’s Office for Prosecution and to the TABC for administrative action.
