Amarillo PD Hosting Law Enforcement Open House Tonight

The Amarillo Police Department is hosting a Law Enforcement Exploring open house tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Amarillo Civic Center Hospitality Room (East Side of the Civic Center Near the Coliseum).

The Amarillo community is invited to attend this event and see what the Amarillo Police Explorers have been doing this past year.

We will also have a promotion ceremony for some of the Explorers, and open enrollment for those interested in joining the Post.

  • We are looking for persons age 14 to 20 years old who have completed the eighth grade
  • Must be of good moral character and must be passing all classes
  • Must be willing to be a leader among your peers
  • Must be willing to be a leader in your community and set a good example of citizenship

Young people interested in a career in law enforcement should attend this event!  Parents are also invited.

The Amarillo Police Department will also have recruiters on site to talk with those interested in a career in law enforcement.  If you have any questions about becoming an Explorer, please contact Col. Martin Birkenfeld, Assistant Chief of Police, at 806-378-4252.
