High Plains law enforcement joined officers around the state and nation to honor slain Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth.
The deputy was shot and killed at a Houston gas station this past Friday. Officials say the attack was unprovoked.
Amarillo Police temporarily blocked off parts of SE 3rd in front of the police station. They turned on their police lights at 11 a.m. for one minute. Officers around the county did the same.
Deputy Sheriff Goforth leaves behind a wife and two young children.
The suspect is charged with capital murder.
