A Randall County grand jury indicted Jeremy David Spielbauer for capital murder in connection with the death of Robin Spielbauer today.

Law enforcement took him into custody today.

Officials say Robin died sometime around April 8, 2014.

Three days later on April 11, 2014, the Randall County Sheriff’s Office arrested Katie Spielbauer for the murder of Robin Spielbauer.

At the time of the murder, Katie Phipps Spielbauer was married to Jeremy David Spielbauer. They have since divorced.

Back in April 2014, officials said Katie Phipps Spielbauer believed her husband was carrying on an affair with the victim.

A grand jury indicted Katie Phipps Spielbauer originally for the capital murder of Robin Spielbauer at the end of September 2014.

Investigators believed they connected Katie Phipps Spielbauer to the murder through a Facebook picture that shows her holding a pink .22-caliber handgun.

They believe that gun was used in beating and shooting Robin Spielbauer.

In July 2015, the Randall County district attorney dropped charges against Katie Phipps Spielbauer because he said additional evidence cast some doubt on the case.

Randall County DA James Farren says there’s overwhelming evidence Katie Spielbauer was with her son the night of the murder.

He has a $500,000 bond.
