Amarillo Gas Prices Continue to Rise, Average $2.09/g

Gasoline prices in Amarillo have risen 7.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.09/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 147 stations in Amarillo. 

This compares with the national average that has increased 6.1 cents per gallon versus last week to $2.39/g, according to GasBuddy.

Average gasoline prices on February 25 in Amarillo have ranged widely over the last five years:

  • $2.25/g in 2018, 
  • $2.07/g in 2017, 
  • $1.55/g in 2016, 
  • $2.18/g in 2015 and 
  • $3.15/g in 2014. 

Including the change locally during the past week, prices yesterday were 15.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 20.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. 

The national average has increased 11.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 10.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Areas near Amarillo and their current gas price climate:

  • Lubbock- $2.08/g, up 6.8 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.01/g.
  • Midland Odessa- $2.35/g, up 0.9 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.34/g.
  • Oklahoma- $2.17/g, up 8.0 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.09/g.
