Amarillo College Board of Regents is taking its Master Plan to the ballot box on May 4.
Amarillo College contracted with Parkhill, Smith and Cooper to help develop the Master Plan for all seven of the AC campuses.
The projects it will be focusing on is a building and infrastructure upgrades, ADA Compliance, the development of first responders and Public Safety Academy, student on-boarding and directional wayfinding, technology improvements, student life experiences and parking for the Washington Street campus.
“The Master Plan process helped illustrate to the Board the needs of the College,” said Dr. Paul Proffer, board chair. “The Board fully supports this bond that will allow Amarillo College to continue to support our community through quality educational and training opportunities well into the future.”
If the bond is passed, it will increase property taxes on homes with an assessed valuation of 100 thousand dollars for six years with a maximum amount of $40 per year.
