Amarillo ArtsFest is a brand new event celebrating all aspects of art from the Amarillo Area. For this inaugural year, in addition to performing arts, music, film, literary and visual arts, the festival will feature a special exhibit of the Art of Texas Women Artists in memory of Ann Crouch, founder of Amarillo’s Galleries at Arts in the Sunset.
ArtsFest 2019 kicks off on Friday, May 10 at 6 p.m. with an opening ceremony in the Ann Crouch Event Center. The opening night reception & awards ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. for the Texas Women Artist Exhibition in the Garden Event Center with more than $6,000 in cash prizes including the Ann Crouch Award of Excellence given in honor of Arts In The Sunset founder Ann Crouch.
Film Community Reception is also on Friday night – honoring local film producers including Michael Merriman who produced The Gospel Music of Johnny Cash: A Story of Faith and Redemption. The event is hosted by Dan Rather. Then the show is on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Horizons West Event Center, just one of many activities scheduled throughout the weekend.
This Exhibition runs May 10th through May 31st, 2019 at the Featured Fine Art Gallery at Arts in the Sunset.
The three-day ArtsFest, which runs from May 10th-12th is FREE to the public, however, you will need to purchase tickets to take part in the Mother’s Day Brunch and the Hey Amarillo Live Podcast.
