911 Calls From Clovis Library Shooting Released


On August 28, Nathaniel Jouett, 16, opened fire in the Clovis Carver Public Library killing two people and injuring four others.

The 911 office received multiple calls from people inside the library, witnesses, and others around town getting texts from victims inside the library.

There were calls from people expressing concern about the shooting, calls from people worried about loved ones inside the library, and calls from people who were inside the library.

According to officials, Jouett opened fire inside the Clovis Carver Public Library.
He killed Wanda Walters, 61, and Kristina Carter, 48.
Four people were shot and had serious injuries, one of those being a 10-year-old boy.

Jouett was indicted and will be tried as an adult and is facing more than 30 charges in total.
They include two counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of child abuse, four counts of aggravated battery, and 20 counts of assault with intent to commit a violent felony.
