Participants gathered for the biggest race of the year in downtown Amarillo.
Adults, kids, and even dogs dressed in pink today to take part in the 2017 Komen West Texas-Amarillo Race For The Cure.
At the race, you could feel the love and support as thousands gathered to honor the fighters and survivors of breast cancer.
One participant from Fort Worth, Texas comes to the race every year. She explained, that even though the event itself is for something sad, it is uplifting to see everyone together.
“We lost my aunt about 7 years ago, on her deathbed we promised her that we’d come and walk in her honor every year, so my family comes from Fort Worth here to Amarillo. My uncle still lives here and we celebrate her life and remember all the good memories with her,” Jennifer Means, Komen Race participant said.
The annual event raises funds for breast cancer education research.
