Amarillo Police continue to investigate a fatal wreck from Sunday night on Dumas Highway and Hastings Avenue.
Officials say first responders were called out around 9:37 after a 17-year-old driving a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of Dumas Highway and Hastings.
The vehicle left the roadway, struck a light pole, slid along a guard rail, drove off of the Dumas Highway overpass over Hastings Ave, struck the ground, slid up the cement embankment on the north side of the overpass, and struck the bottom of the southbound overpass, before coming to rest on Hastings Avenue.
A passenger in the Corvette, 17-year-old Andrea Elizalde, died on scene as a result of injuries received in the crash.
A 22-year-old male passenger of the Corvette was taken to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Corvette received non-life threatening injuries in the wreck.
Officials say speed, alcohol, and no seat belt are all contributing factors in the collision.
The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
