On Wednesday, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called out to a single-vehicle wreck in Hutchinson County, just east of Borger.

Four teenagers were traveling in a 2010 Dodge 1500 pickup truck on SH 152.

Officials say the driver lost control of the truck, struck a guardrail and rolled over.

The front-seat passenger, 16-year-old Christopher McBrayer of Sanford, was taken to the hospital where he died the next morning.

Another passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and the third passenger were not injured.

Officials say they don’t know what caused the driver to lose control of the truck but they do say speed is a suspected factor.

Troopers also say McBrayer was the only one not wearing a seat belt.
