The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is reporting one new case of West Nile in the Texas Panhandle this week.
The case in Randall County is being classified as the West Nile Virus Neuroinvasive Disease (WNND). WNND includes syndromes of meningitis, encephalitis, and acute flaccid paralysis/poliomyelitis.
West Nile cases have been reported in the following counties:
The DSHS reports that over the past 41 weeks, there is 21 confirmed cases of the virus in the Texas Panhandle.
