Carson County Drug Bust on I-40 Nets 111 Pounds of Marijuana

CARSON COUNTY, Texas (KAMR) - DPS seized 111 pounds of marijuana Monday, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County. 

At  3:41 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2017 Nissan Frontier towing a trailer traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana inside four large containers in the trailer.

The driver was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was transported and booked into the Carson County jail. 

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Modesto, California to Chicago, Illinois.
