Are you looking for a wild way to help your community, learn new skills, make new friends and have a fun time? The Amarillo Zoo has the answer! On Saturday, February 8th the Zoo is holding its winter volunteer training class for anyone ages 13 and over that would like to become a ZooCrew volunteer. We are looking for individuals of all ages who are interested in exciting opportunities to work with our animals, educate our guests and help with special events.
To be eligible to attend the training class you must fill out an application and go through an interview process. Applications can be found online at the Zoo's website www.amarillozoo.org or can be picked up in person at the Zoo. Applications must be returned no later than January 31st.
Interviews will be conducted during the following week. For those accepted into the program there will be a $25 fee to cover the cost of uniform t-shirts and training manual. Volunteers accepted into the program must attend a training class and agree to a minimum of (1) four hour shift a month.
The Zoo is especially interested in recruiting college students and retired individuals who might be interested in serving as exhibit interpreters in our new education building.
