OKLAHOMA CITY -- If the sign wasn't enough? The words sealed the deal.
Congressman James Lankford, whose risen quickly since being elected in 2010 is choosing a senate run over reelection.
In a ten minute speech paying tribute to Dr. Tom Coburn Lankford called him a giant of the senate promising to carry on his fight against wasteful spending in a dysfunctional Washington.
As his wife and two daughters stood by, the former church camp director admitted eyeing a senate run for months. Saying too many conservative voices have been pushed out and the president's promised change only cripples the country.
Strong words in a race in need of a strong start. With a special election set for June, expect a few more campaign signs chasing a surprise seat in the senate.
