AMARILLO 8/5/13--  The Amarillo Special Crimes unit is investigating a suspicious death on the 800 block of Virginia.

They were called out at around 6:30 p.m. tonight, on a call of shots fired, and found that a man had been shot. The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim.

They have not yet ruled this shooting a homicide, but are now calling it a suspicious death. Three people have been taken in for questioning, according to Lt. Erick Bohannon, but no one has been arrested or charged.

"Because of the suspicious nature of the call, Special Crimes was called out. We're interviewing witnesses now, trying to figure out what exactly happened here. I'm not ready to rule this a homicide just yet, but indicators are that there are some things going on here that are obviously not very good," said Lt. Bohannon.
