What once started as an idea by board members of the Children's Miracle Network, has become an annual event bringing the community together, and raising money for those in need.
Lake Tanglewood hosted the 8th annual TRi to make a difference sprint triathlon.
The race consisted of a 400 meter swim, 10 mile bike ride, and a 5k run.
The inspiration for the triathlon came in 2005 when a boy was born with a rare seizure disorder.
Triathlon participant Ariana Khu says, "the event today is to benefit bo who passed away and this is all to raise money for him and The Childrens Miracle Network, and we're all just here having a good time being competitive, friendly, wehavesomegreat athletes out here. It's one of my favorite races i've ever been in"
To date the Lake Tanglewood TRi to make a difference sprint triathalon has raised $450,000 for The Children's Miracle Network.
