(NBC News) After almost a month in the hospital the family of Georgia teen Anthony Stokes finally has some hopeful news.
He has been added to the waiting list for a heart transplant at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
It's an operation doctors say is his only chance for survival.
Stokes had always been healthy until chest pain and shortness of breath sent the 15-year-old to the emergency room.
After doctors gave him only months to live, his mother was shocked to receive this letter from Children's Healthcare saying Anthony was being denied a spot on the transplant list for "non-compliance".
