Brandon Farren is completing his tenth year as the head choral director at Canyon High School.  Farren has held an award-winning career in music education for the past 14 years serving the Amarillo Independent School District at Bowie Middle School and Tascosa High School as assistant director prior to coming to Canyon.  At CHS, Farren directs the Chorale, Men's, Women's, Troubadours, and Ovation choirs.  The Canyon High School Choral Women have performed at the TMEA Convention as an Invited Choir in 2007 and have been invited again in 2012.  The Choirs at Canyon High School have earned 31 "Sweepstakes" awards under Farren's direction.

Farren completed his Bachelors of Music at West Texas A&M University and is in the process of completing his Masters.  He resides in Canyon with his beautiful wife, Heather, who is also a music teacher in the Canyon schools, and two incredible children, Christian, 15, and Maddieline, 13.

School administrators from across the state nominated teachers, directors and coaches for this recognition.  Following an extensive selection process, the UIL Sponsor Excellence Award winners will be selected and notified during the month of December.
