(WESH) Thirteen young baseball players with dreams of making it into America's big leagues were left stranded by the people who were supposed to look out for them.
The young men from Venezuela and Puerto Rico found themselves sitting inside Florida's Apopka Police Department headquarters Tuesday night.
"It was a heart-breaker, what they did," player Brian Jimenez said.
Jimenez and his fellow players were contracted with Elite Baseball Academy that is now bankrupt. The owner came to the house where the men were living and shut off the power, then fled.
