Formal charges are filed against a Pampa woman.
She's been charged with capital murder after another woman is found dead in Shamrock on the evening of December 23.
Just before 7:30 p.m. police were called to North Texas Street to the home of a 23 year old woman in Shamrock.
DPS Trooper Daniel Hawthorne says, "they responded and determined that the victim Leslie Perez had been attacked, and was possibly murdered."
As we first reported Tuesday, officers were able to track down 31 year old Adriana Lisa Perez in a car heading toward Pampa.
Troopers tell us help from the community is what led to her arrest.
"The neighbors happened to notice that vehicle and were able to give a good description of it was of great help. Just a lot of great things came together in one instance with the neighbors being very aware and paying attention," says Hawthorne
When police pulled Perez over, she wasn't alone.
Hawthorne tells us, " it was discovered that Leslie Perez's two week old baby had been taken and the baby was discovered by the Gray County Sheriff and is safe with family now."
The little girl was not hurt.
Perez was first arrested on outstanding warrants for theft by check and booked into gray county jail.
Now, she's charged with capital murder
The Wheeler County District Attorney tells us a trial date has not been set, and the investigation is ongoing.
If you have any information contact Texas Rangers, Shamrock Police, or the Wheeler County Sherrif's Office.
Even though the two share the same last name, Perez, the Wheeler District Attorney says authorities don't think the two are related.
