AUSTIN -- Senator Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo) received the "Pulling for Children" Award from the Texas Association of Community Schools (TACS). TACS membership is comprised of small, mid-sized, and rural school districts in Texas with no more than one high school.

"I'm honored to receive this award from the Texas Association of Community Schools," Seliger said. "Pulling for children means pulling for the future of the State of Texas. The dialogue I have with public school administrators and teachers has and will continue to be very productive."

During the last legislative session he played a key role in standardized testing reform as a member of the Senate Education Committee. He also serves on the Senate Finance, Higher Education, Open Government, and Natural Resources committees.
