Consumer Experts say Cyber Monday may be the biggest shopping day of the year in 2013, beating out Black Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday.
But while you're playing Santa, be sure to watch out for the grinch.
"This is a really interesting time of year because the organized crime who makes these viruses that get your information, they really ramp up their efforts during the holiday shopping season," Andrew Brandt with All-Star Computer Service said.
Brandt says hackers release viruses in mass around the holidays, but there are easy steps you can take to protect your identity while you shop.
"Biggest thing that you need to do is look for secure websites. Whenever you look in the address bar of the website, it should have https, look for the lock sign. That lock symbol shows you that that site is secured," Brandt said.
Brandt also recommneds installing anti-virus software that runs continuously, so your computer will alert you to bad sites. He recommends include Microsoft Security Essentials.
