1.) Stereotype untrue: moms AND dads.
2.) Single parents do not typically have that tag-team partner - they are tired, no break/no in-home support. Often more financially stressed.
3.) Discipline is more difficult yet must still be consistent.
4.) Children of single parents have a lot more unsupervised free time, which is concerning because that is when they typically get into trouble.
5.) Older siblings often become the caretakers.

This Week's Parenting Challenge:

 Encourage a Single Parent 

…and their children. If a family member or close friend, offer short times of respite a couple of times a week.
