Prevent Common Cold Weather Dangers

How to Keep Your Home Safe During the Cold Winter Months
Sadly, 30 percent of home fires and 38 percent of home fire deaths occur between December and February, resulting in more than $20 million dollars in property damage every year. In addition, hundreds of children are taken to emergency rooms every holiday season for injuries caused by unsafe or improperly used extension cords.  Its estimated that heating equipment was involved in over 57,000 home structure fires resulting in 1,062 civilian injuries and over $477 million in direct property damage in 2010.

Fortunately, a great number of these fires and injuries can be prevented.
