Friday morning at 1:14 a.m., officers were sent to a home in the 3300 block of South Jackson on reports of a subject armed with a bat and breaking windows. The caller advised that they were armed, and a short time later the homeowner reported that the suspect had made entry into the residence. While officers were still en route, they learned that shots had been fired, and the suspect was down inside the residence. Responding officers made contact with the home owner and a witness. The suspect was in the home. She had sustained gunshot wounds. The suspect was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The suspect, a 25 year old woman, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The homeowner and witness were transported to the Amarillo Police Department for further investigation. No arrests were made pending additional investigation.
