Two Canyon artists are looking for more local talent.
"We are putting together an Art Market. We've done an Art Market before, June 1st, and it was really sucessful and it was the first art market that Canyon has ever had," Kylee Melson, Co-Owner of The Paper Crane Art Gallery said.
A success it was. The young gallery just opened its doors in March. The first market this summer had quite the showing.
"The last Art Market we had, there was 35-40 vendors, something like that, and around 300 people that came out throughout the day," Jesse Melson, Co-Owner of The Paper Crane said.
Now the duo is at it again.
The Melsons will host the second Art Market over homecoming weekend in Canyon. The cost for a vendor is $75 for a 10 by 10 booth, and vendors keep all they make.
The couple says they want to help local artists get some recognition on the big weekend.
"They usually draw baout 25,000 people, and so what better way to already have this audience here," Kylee said.
A big audience and a big idea. This small gallery is making a mark on the Panhandle.
The Paper Crane also offers art lessons, art supplies and the Melsons are seeking artists to show their work in the gallery. For more information on the Paper Crane and how you can get involved in the Art Market click here.
