Ms. D'Farley and her team of beauty editors investigate hundreds of products a month and meet with every beauty company on the market to bring SELF's 6.7 million readers the most newsworthy trends.
Ms. D'Farley edits and contributes to the "Beyond the Beauty Pages" blog at Self.com, offering up-to-the-minute tips, product information and beauty gossip. She also creates unique video content for Self.com's how-to beauty channel.
Elaine D'Farley has been beauty director of SELF magazine since November 2002. Ms. D'Farley came to SELF from Cosmopolitan where she was the beauty and fashion director, responsible for all of Cosmopolitan's beauty and fashion editorial. Prior to joining Cosmopolitan, Ms. D'Farley was a fashion editor at Glamour magazine, another Condé Nast publication. Ms. D'Farley spearheaded a redesign of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 1997. She has also worked as an assistant stylist at Elle magazine. Elaine D'Farley has appeared on various television broadcasts including Today, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Extra and Larry King Live.
She is a graduate of Kenyon College in Ohio and has a Masters in Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts. Elaine D'Farley lives in Manhattan with her husband, who is a music composer, and their daughter.
