AMARILLO -- The Department of Music at Amarillo College is singing the praises of the newly renovated Music Building during a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event featuring tours of the facility.
The event began with formal ceremonies in the Music Building Commons.
The Music Building was the subject of a yearlong, $2.5 million renovation that began last summer and resulted in all-new infrastructure, the addition of sound-proof practice rooms, refurbished choir and band rooms, and new interior finishes throughout. The building also has been rendered leak-proof and now meets Americans with Disabilities standards.
"We are so excited to share our newly remodeled facilities with the Amarillo community and to share how we can better serve our students," Dr. Steve Weber said. "We are also honored to celebrate Dr. Rauschers leadership in making the AC Music Department such a vital and integral part of our community; his work helped make the building remodel possible."
